Marjorie Ward, Edith Harris, the Queensland Quilters Inc and The Village at Yeronga
Marj and Edie are both undergoing Haemodialysis at the Henry Dalziel VC Dialysis Centre at the Greenslopes Hospital and after Marj read an article about CKSN in the Kidney Support Network’s newsletter she and Edie set out to raise funds for our Kidney Kids.
Marj is an enthusiastic quilter and when she attended her next Queensland Quilters Inc Meeting she spoke about CKSN and raised $595 on that day!Since then we have received more donations and in total the very generous ladies of the Queensland Quilters have donated $700 to CKSN, as well as a beautiful quilt for us to use as a raffle prize.
Meanwhile, Edie was busily raising funds at her retirement village, The Village at Yeronga, and through her friends and family.
Altogether Marj and Edie raised enough money to purchase 3 iPads for our Kidney Kids plus more funds for our programs!
These iPads will be used by children when they are undergoing Haemodialysis, as well as those visited by a CKSN Volunteer when they are admitted to hospital.
We are so very grateful for all this wonderful support, generosity and kindness.
